The Unresolved corrosion and plugging dilemma in a Taiwanese WtE gas cooler
A Waste-to-Energy (WtE) plant located in Taiwan has been encountering significant challenges with corrosion and plugging in its Gas Cooler (GC), affecting both the tube and shell sides. Efforts to resolve these issues through various materials and designs, such as tubular and plate-type configurations, stainless steel, and carbon steel, have not been successful. The operational conditions at this Taiwanese plant highlights the necessity for developing reliable solutions to combat these persistent problems.
APEX Group's V-FLEX® and A-CORREX® technologies: Innovating against corrosion in waste incineration lines
In a strategic upgrade, one line of an industrial waste incineration plant has been outfitted with APEX Group's cutting-edge V-FLEX® heat exchanger, featuring A-CORREX® technology and Technoforms PPS-GR. APEX Group's proprietary design provides acid resistance while enhancing operational efficiency. The installation effectively lowers the flue gas temperature pre-scrubber and raises it post-scrubber to mitigate stack corrosion and eliminate plume visibility, offering a significant improvement over conventional tubular exchangers in the allocated space.
